## Summary
Activision's DMZ mode, returning in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 as part of the extraction shooter trend, will not be available as a standalone free-to-play release unlike the previous Warzone mode. Players must purchase the full MW4 game to access DMZ, though selective file downloads allow installing only the DMZ component without the full game files. The publisher has given no indication of plans to make the mode free in the future.

- Selective download option allows installing only DMZ files without the complete game, but purchase is still required
